In that 2016-17 season, where Gujarat won their maiden (and only) title, Panchal scored over 1300 runs, which is still one of the best tallies by an individual in the tournament's history. The previous season, he was a part of the squad that won the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
"While growing up, every kid looks up to their father." My case was no different, I looked at my father while growing up. I was inspired by his energy, he believed in me, he was a source of strength for me, he encouraged my dream to play for India, coming from a small city. Priyank stated on his social media handle.
''He left us a long time ago, I carried his dream of representing the nation for two decades, season after season, until today. Today, I announce my retirement from First-Class cricket effective immediately. My heart is full, I'm filled with gratitude, it's an emotional moment for me". Panchal concluded
He has played 97 matches in List A cricket, scoring eight centuries in T20 cricket. He ended up playing 59 games, with his most recent appearance coming in October 2023. Even though he has played for India A, unfortunately, Panchal remained an uncapped player at the International level & has not played at the IPL level either
