The Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup, scheduled to begin from June 6 in Sri Lanka has been postponed until further notice due to poor weather & health conditions the Asian Cricket Council announced on Monday (June 2).

The decision was taken by the ACC following a letter from Shammi Silva, the President of Sri Lanka Cricket, the host board. The letter mentioned that due to the rise of Chikungunya cases in the region, the board has requested the ACC to postpone the tournament until further notice.
"The ACC is focused on growing Women's cricket in the Asian region, it is one of the most important tournaments to groom the young lot. "ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi said. We look forward to hosting the tournament at a later date.
The ACC will announce the new dates for the tournament in due course.
